You can put this solution on YOUR website!
A seed from an orchid has a mass of 10^-9 gram and is 10^13 times less massive than a seed from a giant fan palm. What is the mass of a seed from the giant fan palm?
---------------------
If you mean the the fan palm seed is 10^13 times as massive:
1E-9 * 1E13 = 1E4 grams
or 10^4 grams
-------------------
This problem is poorly worded, it's the sort of gibberish you hear on TV often.
If the orchid seed were "1 times less massive", how much would that be?
Or if something is "1 times slower", how fast is that? It's zero, but you hear that something is "100 times thinner" than a human hair, which makes no sense at all. If it's 1 times thinner, it's already zero, so what does "100 times thinner" mean?
PS The palm seed is the coconut, and is about 22 pounds in this problem.
