It suffices to find the number of ways to choose a distinct subset from B. Go term-by-term. 12 can or cannot be in the subset, so two possibilities for the 12. 14 can or cannot be in the subset, as well. Since there are seven terms, this leaves 2%5E7, or 128, subsets (including the empty set and the set B).
