You can put this solution on YOUR website!
A contractor took a contract for 45 days and employed 110 workers. If they complete ¼ of work in 15 days then how many extra workers he need to complete it.
:
Find how many man-days it took to do 1/4 of the job with 110 worker working 15 days.
110*15 = 1650 man-days to completed 1/4 of the job
then
3 * 1650 = 4950 man-days required to do the remaining 3/4 of the job
:
Complete job requires 4 * 1650 = 6600 man-days
:
Let x = no. of extra workers required to finish in the remaining 30 days of the contract
30(x+110) = 4950
30x + 3300 = 4950
30x = 4950 - 3300
30x = 1650
x = 1650%2F30
x = 55 more workers needed
:
:
Check this
110*15 = 1650 man-days
165*30 = 4950 man-days
------------------------
complete job: 6600 man-days
