Let Leon's rate be r. Then Pat's rate is r+10. Now rate * time = distance, or rt=d...thus t = d/r...their times are equal, so we have
270 / r = 330 / r+10 now cross-multiply and solve and get
270(r+10) = 330r
270r + 2700 = 330r
60r = 2700
r = 45
r+10 = 55
