You can put this solution on YOUR website! i need to see a sketch graph of y=tan(x-pi) the asymtotes are whats confussing me? thank you for your help if you can send a picture of the sketch graph that would be wonderful
-----
Since tan(x-pi) = sin(x-pi)/cos(x-pi), asymptotes
occur when cos(x-pi) = 0
----
Solve cos(x-pi) = 0
x-pi = (pi/2) or x-pi = (3/2)pi
---
x = -(pi/2) or x = (5/2)pi)
----
Also, the period of the tan is pi.
---
So asymptotes occur at:
-(pi/2) +- n(pi) or
(5/2)pi +- n(pi)
