You can put this solution on YOUR website!
two planes start from the same point, and fly in opostie directions, the first Plane is flying 25mph slower than the second plain. In two hours the planes are 470 miles apart. Find the rate of speed of each plane.
..
let x=speed of first plane
then x-25=speed of slower plane
distance=speed*travel time
Travel time for both planes=2 hours
Since they fly in opposite directions,
2x+2(x-25)=470
2x+2x-50=470
4x=470+50
4x=520
x=130 mph
x-25=105 mph
ans:
Speed of the first plane = 130 mph
Speed of the second plane = 105 mph
