Combine like terms (a plus between the sets of brackets, so no sign changes:
4x^2 - 7x^2 + x^2 - 7xy - 6xy + xy + y^2 - y^2 - 4y^2
:
-2x^2 - 12xy - 4y^2
Factor out -2
-2(x^2 + 6xy + 2y^2) about all can do with it
