The perimeter of rectangle is P=2%2A%28W%2BL%29, when W - width, L - length
so perimeter is 2%2A%28x%2Bx%2B40%29=2%2A%282x%2B40%29
Equation
2%2A%282x%2B40%29=240 devide by 2
2x%2B40=120
2x=120-40
2x=80
x=80%2F2
x=40
so the width is 40 inches, then the length is 40+40=80 inches
