You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The heating element is rated 1.80 kW when operating voltage is 0.24 kV.
a)What is the current through it?
------------------
P = I*V
1800 = I*240
I = 1800/240 = 7.5 amps
-----------------
b)What would its power consumption be if the potential difference drops to 0.12 kV?
E = I*R
R = E/I = 240/7.5 = 32 ohms
------------
P = E^2/R
@ 120 volts
P = 120^2/32 = 450 watts
