Now factor 9 into 3x3.


So 45 = 5x3x3 or 45 = 3x3x5. You'll also see it as


Notice 2 goes into 78. So 78 = 2x39 (divide 78 by 2 to get 39). Now factor 39 into 3x13. So 78 = 2x3x13. Now we're done because every factor is a prime factor.

On your first question 9 is not a prime factor, 9 fators to 3X3
answer is 5 X 3 X 3
Second question

2 X 39
the 2 is prime, so it just comes down and we factor 39
2 X 3 X 13
