Question 405840: Here is another one. Find an equation of the line having the given slope and containing the given point. m=4/5, (8, -8)
The answer to the equation of the line is y= 4/5x-72/5. I did not get this answer and I don't know how they did. What am I missing?
My answer was y=4/5x-40/5

You have m,x,and y; solve for b:

-8 = (4/5)8 + b
---
(-40/5) = (32/8)+ b
---
b = -72/5
---
Equation:
y = (4/5)x-(72/5)
