We want the 1%2F2 to be 3. So we can multiply it by 6 to get 6%281%2F2%29=6%2F2=3. However, we have to do this with X as well to get


3%3A3x=3%3A12


Since the first two terms are equal to 3, this means that the second terms are equal. So 3x=12, which means that x=4
