Please re-post your questions and use parentheses around what ever belongs inside the square root to make it clear. The way you posted your problems it is impossible to tell if they are:
sqrt%28x-2%29+=+0
sqrt%283x-6%29+=+0
or if they are:
sqrt%28x%29-2+=+0
sqrt%283x%29-6+=+0
These two sets of equations are different and have different solutions.
