You can put this solution on YOUR website!
So we need to simplify the expression
x%5E4%2Ax%5E-6
When simplifying or combining exponents there are a few rules to follow.
In multiplication of exponents that have the same base (x), which we have here, we can simply add the exponents together.
So...
4 + (-6) = -2
so when we combine x%5E4%2Ax%5E-6+=+x%5E-2
Now we have an answer that can be simplified using only positive exponents.
x%5E-2 we can think of as
%28x%5E-2%29%2F1
and using the quotient rule for negative exponents we can take any negative number from the numerator and put it into the denominator to make it positve.
So we can do this...
%281%29%2F%281%2Ax%5E2%29
or
1%2Fx%5E2
I hope this helps.
Good Luck!
