In dealing with all exponents we know that in this case the -1 will only effect the value of the x term not the 5.
Think of it like 5%2Ax%5E-1%2F1
So using the quotient rule for exponents we can put all negative exponent in the denominator to make them positive...
5%2F%281%2Ax%5E1%29 or 5%2Fx
