so, x+-+y+=+32


One of them is three times greater than the other
x+=+3y

what are the two numbers:
x+-+y+=+32............1
x+=+3y................2.solve the system by substitution

x+-+y+=+32............1...substitute x+..from ...2..
3y+-+y+=+32
2y++=+32
y++=+32%2F2
y++=+16.........now find x+
x+=+3%2A16
x+=+48
