you are 30 yr (44 - 14) older than amber ___ y = a + 30

at some point, you will be three times amber's age ___ y = 3a


substituting ___ (3a) = a + 30

2a = 30 ___ a = 15

when amber is 15, you will be 45; and be three times her age
