You can put this solution on YOUR website!
D=RT
D=60T FOR THE FIRST TRAIN
D=80(T-.2) FOR THE SECOND TRAIN THAT IS 12 MINUTES BEHIND.
BECAUSE THE DISTANCES ARE THE SAME WE SET THESE 2 EQUATIONS EQUAL.
60T=80(T-.2)
60T=80T-16
60T-80T=-16
-20T=-16
T=-16/-20
T=.8 HOURS OR 48 MINUTES AFTER 6:10 THEY WILL MEET.
6:10+:48=6:58 THEY WILL MEET.
PROOF:
60*.8=80(.8-.2)
48=80*.6
48=48
