Question 401172: A light is mounted on the side of a building, 60 feet above the ground. A six-foot-tall man is standing 12 feet from the building. How long is his shadow? Answer by edjones(8007) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! There are two similar triangles, the smaller with a base of 12' and alt of 56'
and larger with a base of x' and an alt of 60'
x/12=60/56
x=90/7
90/7 - 12 = 6/7 ' length of his shadow.
