You can put this solution on YOUR website! Hi, please help me with this problem:
A boat which travels 23.9 mi/hr at full throttle in still water is headed due north in a river that flows from west to east with a current of 6.3 mi/hr. If the boat is crossing the river at full throttle, find the bearing of the true course of the boat. Round to the nearest tenth.
..
As the boat heads north it would drift eastward with the current making an angle with the direct line across whose tan x = 6.5/23.9 Using the tan inverse function on my calculator, the angle x is=15.21 deg. The bearing of the landing point from the starting point is N15.21degE
