Well without providing the radius, I'll give you the general solution...if the circle is inside the square and has a radius of r, the side of the square is 2r.
Thus the square's area is 4r^2, and the area of the circle is (pi)r^2. Just subtract the two to find the shaded area of the square not contained in the circle...
(4-(pi))r^2
Just plug in whatever r you have and get the answer...
