4w - 3v = 4(-i-6j) - 3(-3i + 7j) = -4i - 24j + 9i - 21j = 5i - 45j

Vectors add in a similar manner that complex numbers do (they're commutative, etc.). The sum 4w - 3v is equivalent to

4(-i - 6j) - 3(-3i + 7j)

= -4i - 24j + 9i - 21j

= 5i - 45j
