 3(n+1) - 8(2-n) = 20    |Multiplying both sides of the equation by 24

 3n + 3 -16 + 8n = 20    |Note: %285%2F6%2924+=+20

     11n = 33

       n = 3

     4/8  + 1/3 =  12/24 + 8/24 = 20/24 = 5/6
