You can put this solution on YOUR website!
If the width is x
Then the length is (x+3) (because the length is to be 3m longer than the width)
FORMULA: The perimeter of the rectangular is P=2%2A%28L%2BW%29
L - the length
W - the width
So perimeter of the rectangular is 2*(x+(x+3))
From Problem perimeter is 26 m
So we have equation:
2%2A%28x%2B%28x%2B3%29%29=26
x%2Bx%2B3=26%2F2
2x=13-3
2x=10
x=10%2F2
x=5
the width of the rectangular backyard is 5m
Then the length is (x+3)=5+3=8m
Answer 5m and 8m
