Question:Joel, Nevin and Vu contributed to a present worth $130 for Jessica. if Nevin contributes half the amount that Joel does and Vu contributes $10 less than twice the amount that Joel contributes, find the amount each person given toward the present.
my solution!
Joel+Nevin+Vu=$130
x+x/2+2x-10=130
from here i have worked out but i got the wrong answer coul you please show me the work out as well.

You can put this solution on YOUR website! the equation looks okay
adding 10 ___ x + x/2 + 2x = 140
multiplying by 2 ___ 2x + x + 4x = 280 ___ 7x = 280
dividing by 7 ___ x = 40
so the contributions are ___ 40 , 20 , and 70
