Let the integers be m and n
where m is the smaller
given:
(1) m+%2B+n+=+22
(2) 8m+=+2n+%2B+56
from (1):
n+=+22+-+m
Substituting:
8m+=+2%2A%2822+-+m%29+%2B+56
8m+=+44+-+2m+%2B+56
10m+=+100
m+=+10
and, since
m+%2B+n+=+22
n+=+12
The numbers are 10 and 12
