Question 399087: Because of erosion, Horseshoe Falls, one of the two falls that make up Niagara Falls, is migrating upstream at a rate of 2 feet per year. At this rate how long will it take the falls to move one-fourth mile? Answer by solver91311(24713) (Show Source):
There are 5280 feet in a statute mile. Divide by 4 to get the number of feet in 1/4 mile. Divide by 2 to get the number of years to achieve 1/4 mile at 2 feet per year. It won't happen in our lifetime.
