A recent survey indicated that in a town of 1500 households, 850 had cordless telephones. If a house hold is randomly selected, find the probability that it has a cordless telephone. My answer that I got was 1.8 Answer by ewatrrr(24785) (Show Source):
Hi
1500 households of which 850 had cordless telephones
P(one selected has cordless phone) = 850/1500 = .5667
Note: Probability of something happening is NEVER more than 1.
P = 1 would indicate something always happens...
P = 0 would indicate it never happens
