You can put this solution on YOUR website!
2%28x%2B3%29=5%28x-1%29 Start with the given equation.

2x%2B6=5x-5 Distribute.

2x=5x-5-6 Subtract 6 from both sides.

2x-5x=-5-6 Subtract 5x from both sides.

-3x=-5-6 Combine like terms on the left side.

-3x=-11 Combine like terms on the right side.

x=%28-11%29%2F%28-3%29 Divide both sides by -3 to isolate x.

x=11%2F3 Reduce.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Answer:

So the solution is x=11%2F3
