You can put this solution on YOUR website! Let x = # of 2-points made, and y = # of 3-points made.
Then x +y = 37,
2x +3y = 80.
From the top equation, y = 37 - x. Substitute this into the bottom equation:
2x + 3(37 - x) = 80
2x + 111 - 3x =80
-x = - 31
x = 31, # of 2-points made, and
37 - x = 6, the # of 3-points made.
