Let x and (130 - x) represent  the $/hr of the 15hr and 5hr mechanics respectively

Questions states***

 x*15hr + (130-x)5hr = $1500

solving for x

  15x -5x + 650 = 1500

           10x = 850

             x = $85 for one mechanic.  the other $45  ($130 - $85)

 15*$85 + 5*$45 = $1500
