if answers are 10 and -3 then those would need to be the zeroes of that quadratic equation, and the following must be true:
(v - 10)(v + 3) = 0, v = 10 and v = -3 (10 - 10 = 0, -3 + 3 = 0)
v^2 + 3v - 10v - 30 = 0, used FOIL (First Outer Inner Last)
v^2 - 7v - 30 = 0, same as above, so yes
