Question 395493: Bill ran at 12 kilometers per hour while Leo ran at 10 kilometers per hour. How long did it take for them to be 2/3 of a kilometer apart?
This is a d=rt word problem and this is what I know, but I don't know how to put that together
Bill's rate is 12.
Leo's rate is 10.
They both travel for the same amount of time so i guess it will be x
So what I get is 12x and 10x and i dont know what to do from there

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Bill ran at 12 kilometers per hour while Leo ran at 10 kilometers per hour.
How long did it take for them to be 2/3 of a kilometer apart?
:
If x = their running time
We know bill's dist is 12x and Leo's dist is 10x, the dif is 2/3 km
:
12x - 10x = 2%2F3
