Question 395449: okay my teacher aske me to take an equation and first solve for y then rewrite it in function notation then find the intercepts.
the equation im solving is : 2x-8y=12
heres what i did but there is no answer key to check my work if im even doing it right.
2x-8y=12 let x represent 0 "i just chose any # for this"?
= 2(0)-8y=12
= -8y/-8y=12/-8y
= y=-1.5 so to put it into function notation would it be {f(0)=-1.5}?
thats the part im confused about.. Answer by rfer(16322) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! you also solved for y intercept at the same time.
(0,-1.5)
Do the same process to find the x intercept
She may be looking for
2x-8y=12
-8y=-2x+12
y=0.25x-1.5
f(x)=0.25x-1.5
I am not sure.
