You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let a = number of loads washed in 20 pound machine
Let b = number of loads washed in 30 pound machine
given:
150a+%2B+250b+=+2050 (in cents)
(1) 3a+%2B+5b+=+41
(2) a+%2B+b+=+11
Multiply both sides of (2) by 3, and
and subtract (2) from (1)
(1) 3a+%2B+5b+=+41
(2) -3a+-+3b+=+33
2b+=+8
b+=+4
And, from (2),
a+%2B+4+=+11
a+=+7
7 loads were washed in the 20 pound machine
4 loads were washed in the 30 pound machine
