According to the order of opeations, you must do the operations in the parenthesis first. In the parentheses, you multiply 43 by 2.
-3%2B18x%5E2-%2840%2B86%29
Then, you add 86 to 40 and you get 126.
-3%2B18x%5E2-%28126%29
Remove the parentheses.
-3x%2B18x%5E2-126
Now, subtract 126 from -3 and you'll get -129%2B18x%5E2
Answer: -129%2B18x%5E2
