Hi,
Since a rectangle can be split into two triangles, you can always use the Pytagorean Theorm to solve this problem.
a%5E2 + +b%5E2+ = c%5E2
5%5E2 + 12%5E2 = c%5E2
25 + 144 = c%5E2
169 = c%5E2
sqrt%28+169+%29 = 13
Answer : 13 meters
