You can put this solution on YOUR website!
how do you solve 0.04x + 0.2 - 0.4x = 0.38D
I like to get rid of the decimals (but you don't have to) multiply each term by 100
4x + 20 - 40x = 38D
4x - 40x = 38D - 20
-36x = 38D - 20
x has to be positive, multiply by -1
36x = -38D + 20
Divide by 36
x = -38%2F36D + 20%2F36
Reduce the fraction
x = -19%2F18D + 5%2F9
