You can put this solution on YOUR website! okay i think i got this one lol
first you would take the top equation and set it equal to x
so y=-x+4
subtract 4 from both sides
y-4=-x
divide by -1
-y+4=x
then plug that into the second equation where x would be
so y=2(y-4)+6
then multiply
y=2y-8+6
do the -8+6
which makes -2
so y=2y-2
subtract 2y from both sides
-y=-2
multiply by -1
y=2 then plug in the y=2 to the first equation
y=-x+4
2=-x+4
subtract 4 from both sides
-2=-x
divide by -1 on both sides
x=2
so your answers are x=2 and y=2
if you need help on any more of these i will gladly help you.
send me an email trdl@msn.com
ill get back to you right away unless its a weekend. :)
hope this helped. let me know if you have any more ?s
Hi
Sets Up for elimination of x by multiplying 1st equation by 2 prior to adding them
y=-x+4
y=2x+6
2y=-2x+8
y= 2x+6
3y = 14
y = 14/3
x = -2/3 | y = -x + 4, x = -14/3 + 12/3
