Question 394197: Hi, I'm having trouble with these two complex numbers problems:
Directions: Without using a graph, find the endpoint of the vector that satisfies the following questions.
1. (-2-i)+(8-5i)
2. (3+7i)-(8+2i) Found 2 solutions by stanbon, josmiceli:Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! 1. (-2-i)+(8-5i)
(-2+8,-1-5) = (6,-6)
=========================
2. (3+7i)-(8+2i)
(3-8,7-2) = (-5,5)

You can put this solution on YOUR website! To add these 2 vectors, you must add the imaginary terms separately from
the real terms
(1) (-2,-i) + (8 -5i) answer
-----------
(2) (3 + 7i) - (8 + 2i)
Subtracting a vector is the same as adding the negative vector like so:
(2) (3 + 7i) + (-8 - 2i) answer
