You can put this solution on YOUR website!

Hi
width is two-thirds of the length
Let x and (2/3)x represent the length and width respectively
P = 2L + 2W
Question states***
2x + 2(2/3)x = 48ft
solve for x
2x + (4/3)x = 48ft |multiplying each term by 3 so as all denominators = 1
6x + 4x = 48ft*3
10x = 144ft
x = 14.4ft, the length. the width is 2/3*14.4 = 9.6 ft
28.4 + 18.2 = 47.6 = 48 ft
