You can put this solution on YOUR website! Please help me solve this equation.
(3+2 sqrt 2)(1+ sqrt 2)
but this is not an equation, perhaps they want you to FOIL this and simplify
3 + 3sqrt(2) + 2sqrt(2) + 2(2)
which is
7 + 5sqrt(2)

Comment: "Thank you, do you mind showing me how you got that answer."
I am ashamed to see I made a mistake here, although I got the correct answer
will try to correct it step-by-step
:
To multiply these two factors we use the FOIL method which stands for
First; Outer, Inner, Last
:
Multiply
First terms: 3 * 1 = 3
Outer terms: 3 * sqrt(2) = 3sqrt(2)
Inner terms: 2sqrt(2) * 1 = 2sqrt(2)
Last terms: sqrt(2) * 2sqrt(2) = 2(2)
Which gives us
3 + 3sqrt(2) + 2sqrt(2) + 4
Combine like terms
3sqrt2) + 2sqrt(2) = 5sqrt(2)
3 + 4 = 7
so we have
7 + 5sqrt(2)
