 the total number of people

Question states

 3/7x in hall and 4/7x in the lawn

then

 3/7x + %281%2F5%29%284%2F7%29x became the number in the hall

 3/7 + 4/35 = 15/35 + 4/35 = 19/35x in the Hall and 16/35x in the lawn

ratio of the people sitting in the lawn to the people sitting in the hall

ratio would be 16:19

Let x be the total number of people, so
X= 3x/7 + 4x/7
Number of people moving to hall:
4x/7 * 1/5 = 4x/35
Total number of people now in the hall will be:
3x/7 + 4x/35 = 19x/35
Total number of people now in the lawn will be:
4x/7 - 4x/35 = 16x/35
Ratio: (16x/35)/ (19x/35) = 16/19
