let x = hours it would take for anthony to paint the room by himself
then, his hourly rate =1/x
Louis takes 3 hours to do the job himself, so, his hourly rate =1/3
When working together they would take 2 hours to finish the job, so, their hourly rate would be = 1/2
1/3+1/x=1/2
1/x=1/2-1/3=1/6
x=6
ans: It would take anthony 6 hours to paint the room by himself
