Solving this sytem of equations

3x+y=1  

6x+2y=-2 

solving by substitution

3x+y=1  Or y = -3x + 1

6x + 2(-3x+1)= -2

 6x - 6x + 2 = -2

           2 ≠ -2  there is NO solution for this system of equations

these equations represent lines that are parallel and do not intersect
