n%2F%28n%2B8%29 ---> %28n%2B3%29%2F%28n%2B11%29+=+1%2F2 ==> 2n+6 = n+11, after cross-multiplication.
==> n = 5. The original fraction is 5/13.

The denominator of a fraction is 9 more than the numerator. If the numerator is decrease by 3 and the denominator is increased by 3, the value of the resulting fraction is 1/4. What is the original fraction?
numerator =x
denominator = x+9
...
fraction = x%2F%28x%2B9%29
...
%28x-3%29%2F%28x%2B12%29=1%2F4
cross multiply
4(x-3)=(x+12)
4x-12=x+12
add 12
4x=x+12+12
4x=x+24
add -x
4x-x=24
3x=24
/3
x=8 the numerator
x+9= 17 the denominator
..
The fraction is +8%2F17
