Question 39183: Nate was kind enough to point out a mistake in one of my postings, the official question is
List all of the potential rational zeros of the polynomial function. Do not attempt to find the zeros.
The function is: f(x)=2x^3+x^2+3x+8
The possible answers are:
a) +-2,+-4,+-8,+-1/2,+-7/2
b)+-2,+-4,+-8,+-16,+-1/2
c)0,+-1,+-2+-4,+-1/2
d)+-1,+-2,+-4,+-8,+-1/2
Answer by Nate(3500) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! Define "a" as the factors of the constant ....
a:1,2,4,8
Define "b" as the factors of the leading coefficient ....
b:1,2
The possible zeros are defined as +-(a/b)
Should be:
+-1,+-2,+-4,+-8,+-(1/2)
The answer is (D).
