  finding the intercepts for the line

y = 4x + 12   |crosses x-axis when y = 0

0 = 4x + 12

-12 = 4x

 -3 = x   x-intercept is Pt(-3,0)



y = 4x + 12     |crosses y-axis when x = 0

y = 4*0 + 12

y = 12    y-intercept is Pt(0,12)
