Let x=number of pieces
Then (5/8)x=15 multiply each side by 8
5x=120
x=24 ------pieces

24*(5/8)=15
15=15
We know there's 120 (1/8) yd pieces in 15 yds because 120/8=15 . We also there's only 1/5 as many 5/8 yd pieces so 120/5=24
