If the teeterboard is 10 feet, then the brother is assumed to be 5 ft from the fulcrum...George is 4 ft from it...
Let x = the brother's weight.
The 60 + (1/2)x is George's weight.
Since they balance, we have
5x = 4(60 + (1/2)x)
5x = 240 + 2x
3x = 240
x = 80 and brother's weight
George weighs 60 + (1/2)(80) = 100 lbs...
